We’re Back: A New Chapter After Surgery
First, let me start by saying how much I’ve missed this wonderful community. It’s been quite a journey over the past few months, and I’m excited to share an update with you all.
As many of you know, I had to take a step back earlier this year for heart surgery. It wasn’t an easy decision to close my in-person events and pause the website, but my health had to come first. Now that I’m recovering and feeling stronger every day, I’m thrilled to be reopening the website and starting things back up! Hopefully by next year, I'll be ready to do some in-person events.
Starting Fresh as a Solo Creator
Running a small business on your own is both rewarding and challenging. As a solo creator, every part of the process—designing, making, marketing, and customer service—falls on my shoulders. While I love the creative side of things, it can sometimes feel overwhelming to juggle everything, especially while recovering and balancing a full-time job.
That’s why I’m taking a new approach this time around: asking for help.
Welcoming My Husband to the Team
I’ve always felt this shop was a reflection of me, but I realized that letting someone else be part of it doesn’t take away from that—it enhances it. So, I’m bringing my husband on board to help with the bookkeeping side of things! He’s organized, detail-oriented, and (luckily for me) willing to dive into the behind-the-scenes work that keeps the shop running smoothly.
This isn’t his first time helping out, either. My husband used to be a huge help during my in-person events, from setting up displays to chatting with customers and making sure everything ran smoothly. It feels natural to bring him back into the business in this new way, and I’m so grateful to have his support as we tackle this next chapter together.
With him handling the numbers and keeping everything in order, I’ll have more time to focus on what I love: creating high-quality, handmade products for all of you.
What’s Next?
For now, I’ll be filling orders on weekends while continuing to recover and adjust to this new normal. I’m easing back into things, so please bear with me if response times are a bit slower or if there’s a delay in processing orders.
Your support has meant the world to me during this time, and I can’t wait to bring more of my creations to life. Thank you for being patient, kind, and understanding as I navigate this new chapter.
Stay tuned for updates on new products and maybe even a few behind-the-scenes glimpses of the husband-and-wife team in action!
Here’s to making something beautiful, together.
